Infopage for IP2: Image Processing by Means of Remote Sensing SoSe 2017 (Mo. 10-12 h)

This lecture series is one of two components of the master module image processing 2 (IP2). Since both components share one semester, this lecture series takes place in the second half of the summer semester only! At the first half of the semester Prof. Neumann will give another lecture, namely High Level Vision.
This lecture builds upon image processing 1 (IP1), which is a part of the International Master Course Informatics of the University of Hamburg. Thus, the language used in this course is English. Oral examinations can be performed in German or English.
The procedure of this course consists of lectures with integrated exercises, and practial computer exercises.

Topics

This lecture series gives a in-depth introduction into the concepts and methods of the image processing by means of Remote Sensing, a very important aspect of digital image processing. I.e. the following topics will be discussed: Satellite orbits and sensor platforms, air- and space-borne sensors of different modes (radar, infrared, visible spectrum), multi-channel imagery, image fusion, atmospheric correction, feature detection, change detection, signatures and classification, object detection, knowledge based interpretation, typical applications.

Lecture slides, exercises etc.

The lecture slides are in German and will be made accessible trough this Stine information system. There you will also find links to the English slides of 2014, the excercises, and other additional material.
