Elternzeit und Bug-Reports / parental leave and bugs

die meisten von Euch haben es ja jetzt mitbekommen, ab sofort bin ich
in Elternzeit.  Konkret bedeutet das, das ich nur noch 16 Stunden die
Woche arbeite, und davon widerrum nur einen Tag in Stellingen.  Das
hat nat"urlich Auswirkungen auf die Kommunikation mit mir:

Einfach mal vorbeikommen:  Die ungeeignetste Methode.  Zum einen kann
    es im Zweifel eine Woche dauern, bis ich das n"achste mal da bin,
    zum anderen werde ich dann soviel zu tun haben, dass ich Eure
    Auftr"age ohne zus"atzliche schriftliche Erinnerung schon bald
    wieder vergessen habe.

Mail: Das funktioniert nat"urlich nach wie vor, ich werde t"aglich
    meine Mail lesen.  Allerdings gebe ich zu bedenken, dass ich
    t"aglich mehrere 100 Mails erhalte.  Selbst nach Anwendung
    diverser Filter und Spamblocker bleiben immer noch 20-40 Mails pro
    Tag nach, die ich per Hand sichten muss.  Dar"uber hinaus ist so
    eine Mail eine recht einseitige Sache, Ihr wisst nicht einmal, ob
    ich die Mail bekommen habe, und schon mal gar nicht, ob ich an
    Eurem Problem arbeite.  Deswegen w"urde ich einen dritten Weg
    vorschlagen:

    [TUTOS -> Fehlermanagement -> Neu] kann man Fehler (Bugs) der
    [Klasse]n Leicht, Schwer, Gef"ahrlich und Vorschlag eintragen.
    Wichtig ist hier vor allem, unter [Referenz] das richtige Produkt
    zu w"ahlen.  Dieser Bug ist dann bis zu seiner Erledigung sowohl
    auf meiner als auch auf Eurer TUTOS-Login-Seite

    leicht zug"anglich, und ihr k"onnt jederzeit den aktuellen Stand

Also, mein Vorschlag w"are, Tutos f"ur Bugs/W"unsche zu benutzen, da
dies mein Leben erleichtern w"urde; f"ur weitere Informationen "uber

Wer aber so neumodischen Kram vermeiden und lieber weiter mailen will,
kann nat"urlich auch das tun, nimmt dabei aber in Kauf, dass
Informationen "uber den aktuellen Stand der Bearbeitung im Zweifel
weitere Mails erfordern...

Hi,

some of you might have noticed (even though you didn't come to the
coffee-break today) that starting immediately I'm on parental leave.
This means that I'll only work 16 hours a week, and only one day a
week in Stellingen.  This greatly influences our way of communication:

Simply drop in: Not a viable method anymore.  For one thing, it might
       easily take up to a week for you to meet me this way, but it
       also means that on this one day I'll have so much to do that
       without an additional reminder I'll soon have forgotten all
       about it.

Mail: This of course still works,  I'll read my mail at least once a
       day.  However, I would like to point out that I receive several
       100 mails each day.  Even after I've employed several filters
       and spamtraps, there are still at least 20-40 mails left which
       have to be sorted manually.  Plus, a mail is essentially
       one-way communication, you won't even know for sure whether I
       received the mail, never mind if I've started working on your
       problem.  So let me suggest a third alternative:

       [TUTOS -> Bug Tracking -> New] you can enter bugs of the
       [Class]es light, heavy, dangerous, and suggestion.  The most
       important point here is to choose the correct product under
       [Reference].  As long as such a Bug has not been declared
       closed it will show up both on your as well as my TUTOS login
       page

       from where it is easily accessible, and from where it is easy
       to get informed about the current state of progress.  And at
       http://kogs-www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/tutos/php/bug_overview.php?format=html&format=stat
       [TUTOS -> Bug Tracking -> Search -> Statistics] you can also
       get a good idea about all other bugs currently in the queue.
      
So, my advice would be to use Tutos for bugs / suggestions, since this
would make things easier for me.  For additional information on the

But of course, if you don't go in for such newfangled ways, you're
welcome to stay with mail, realising that information about the
progress of work might require additional mails.
