SanDisk Flashdisk

Dear PC3K users,

Thank you very much for your help with the alarm sound. After noticing some
other strange behavior with my machine, I removed the batteries again. This
time I shorted the battery contacts to try to drain any remaining charge.
When I restarted the system, the sound was working properly.

By the way, I found at Radio Shack (USA) a Coax-Style DC power plug 274-1532
which works nicely. I looked a few years ago and did not find a plug
component that worked well.

I built a power supply adapter using a LM317 adjustable regulator and other
components to output the 6.3V. The regulator needs a small heat sink. With
this adapter I can use small 9V wall transformers or 12V power at home, work
and travel.

I have been trying to obtain a SanDisk FlashDisk for my unit. I acquired a
FlashDisk 10MB SDP3B. The PC3K gives an error declaring the PCMCIA card to
be the wrong type after I insert it.

It seems to SDISK and SFORMAT ok.

I am able to copy files to the card with laplink and some programs read it.

Some applications give read errors from this card.

The File Manager program does not see the card most of the time.

Do you get any of these errors with the Flash cards you may have used?

I am wondering if the card is faulty or if I need to try to find an older
type of card from SDP5 series.

Any comments?

Thanks again for all your help,
