This doesn't work (missing fifo).  Using exactly the same setup,
programs, everything I can connect my Olivetti Quaderno (another 8086
subnotebook) to my Linux box at 38400, but the pc 3100 at only 9600.
Higher speeds work sometimes, for a short time, but always fail after
a few minutes at the latest...
