Re: Replace lithium battery
Thank you very much for your fast and friendly reply. I just recently discovered the Sharp 3K community on the net, and am pleased to find that there are still sombody using this 10 year old machine. I have used mine off and on. As a journalist I use it for taking notes in interviews. My Sharp notes are much more readable than my hand written notes!
I have had a few problems with the machine locking up while typing and have not been able to see what keybard entries caused it, but now I have seen from one of the FAQ lists.
My machine is quite beaten up, most of the paint has come off, and there is a nasty stripe on the monitor. Aside from a few data losses and some problems with batteries dying on me, I have found the machine very useful, although i feel a litte nervous until I have my files safely downloaded to the Sharp floppy drive.
I have been looking for safer internal memory then the e:, and I will now get the PCMCIA-flash adapter and try my 16 mb CF card. That is a lot of memory for the Sharp. I will also look for a Sony AC adapter, which I have been missing.
I understand there are new(?) PC 3000 available at around $100 and will consider getting one. The Sharp is very good at what I use it for; entering text.
