No.  Well, at least none of the cards I ever tried (unless you used
stacker or somesuch on on, of course :-).

Absolutely.  And the SRAM-card should be readable (and writeable) in
any DOS or Windows 9x Notebook with a PCMCIA drive (not Linux,
unfortunately, and I don't know about NT/ME/2000).  There have been
some discussions on the readability of SRAM, have a look at
