Research Interests

My research interests are mainly constraint by my working environment: the scene analysis and visualization group (SAV). Within this area, I'm currently focussing on the aspects of image processing, image analysis and scene understanding.
You may have heard from this combination of research aspects by the name "Computer Vision". Further, my research interests are mainly motivated inter-disciplinary and application-based. Thus, they may be ordered as follows:

  • Generic methods for image processing
  • Efficient, theoretically founded image processing algorithms
  • Multimodal image processing
  • Knowledge-based analysis of images
  • Computer Vision in Remote Sensing
  • Interoperability of programming languages
  • Computer Vision w.r.t. material research
  • Operation system independent Computer Vision systems

If you are interested in one of the points mentioned above, do not hesitate in contacting me. In collaboriation with Prof. Dreschler-Fischer, we can provide a lot of interesting topics, which are nice starting points for Bachelor- and Master theses. It is also possible that you write the thesis in English. This is your opportunity to write your thesis in a currently very active research environment!
