Hi I work in Asia and this is a constant problem. Answer eventually is to remove all of the paint, lightly polish the case - I used a cloth with jeweller's rouge and get a case. My wife made be a beautiful one out of chamois leather which protects the case and keeps it shining and bright. Gareth Powell
