Re: CF card and the Sharp PC3000/HP95LX experiences (fwd)

Hi again! Okay sending this reply to the PC3K list this time :)

Yes this was a bit of a shock to me too. I repeated it a number of times
to make sure I wasn't seeing things! And yes the only thing I can think is
that perhaps one of the Sharp drivers in the config.sys that gets "built"
when initialising the system contains some form of power-saver code that
deals directly with the PC3x00 hardware. Unfortunately I've dismantled the
test setup cos I plan to go to bed tonight (my desk became gadget city, and
as my desk was previously covered in junk my bed had to be temporary junk
recipient!)... but if folks want I can set it back up at some point and do
a more subtle "add one driver at a time" kinda approach and see if I can
pin down the critical one(s).

Re what I use to switch LP on, I often have used one of the suite of utils
on the ftp site to switch it (it's name eludes me at the moment). However
I couldn't seem to find this little util on my system this afternoon and so
I just did it via the setup popup (Fn-F9 from memory) thingy.

No worries. Cheers,
