What do you mean, does not function? It can not install itself on
the PC, or once you have versions installed on both the PC and the
PC3K they can not talk to each other? If it is the former, there's a
well known problem with newer PC's, just grap the version from
ftp://hawk.psychol.ucl.ac.uk/pub/sharp-pc3k/ (laplink.*) instead. If
it is the latter, and you are using the laplink above, are you sure
you set both ports to 9600? Are you talking to the right port (on the
PC)? Obviously you have enabled the PC3K's port, or you wouldn't be
able to send at all...

Just a normal null-modem cable should work.

Is this a null-modem? Looks like a straight through to me, or did I
miss something? But then, why were you able to send anything at all?
