I can report the same result with a Sandisk 64MB card, partitioning
(and formating) the card under Linux.  But of course the question
remains:

Did you (or anybody else) bejond this barrier?  I fear it might not be
doable at all (A and B seem pretty much hardwired), but who's to
know...
